Julie graduated from Jacksonville University in 1994 with a B.S. in Marine Science and a minor in Biology. She earned her M.S. in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Biology from East Carolina University in 1998. She earned her teaching certificate at Western Governors University in 2003. She has worked in both scientific research (5 years) and education (20+ years). Julie currently is the Assistant Principal at Sumner Memorial High School.
