​All after school activities are canceled today, Jan. 16, for all RSU #24 schools. This includes basketball games and Adult Education.

Due to power/electrical issues, there will be a two-hour delay at Sumner this morning. All other schools will have a regular start time.

​Due to the approaching storm, there will be no school in all RSU #24 locations tomorrow. This includes Adult Education.

The purpose of this email is to update you on the status of the Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus. Despite the diligent efforts of many individuals involved in the project, we will not be able to start the 2022-2023 school year in the new facility. The water sprinkler system that is in place will not function appropriately to provide the necessary protections for our staff and students. This is an unfortunate (and frustrating) situation that we are working to remedy in a timely fashion but it does appear that the fix will take months to complete.

UPDATE: Due to trees down across the roads, the buses will be delayed today. We are working to get your children home safely.


Schools are dismissing due to widespread power outages, starting with Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus at 1:30pm. The elementary schools will follow. Adult Ed is also closing early. There will be no after school activities.
