Dear Sumner Memorial High School Students, Families and Community,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 Sumner Memorial High School school year! As the incoming principal, I would like to share my excitement about joining the RSU 24 learning community. It is an honor to be here, and my goal is to promote a school culture that allows all students to flourish both academically and socially.
I have worked in both public and private schools, and with students at all primary and secondary grade levels. Most recently, I served as Pre. K. through Grade Eight principal at Bay Ridge Elementary School in Cutler, Maine. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, and I will use this opportunity to benefit our school community.
Here are some important dates and details for your reference:
- Infinite Campus (IC) Portal - A lot of work has been done to get IC , including schedules, updated and ready for the 24/25 school year. Please let us know if you have any difficulties accessing the information you need.
- Freshmen First Day - Thursday, August 29th
- First Building Wide Day of School (6-12) - Friday, August 30th
- SMHS who are from the Hancock Community will be dismissed for the bus at 1:30 p.m.
- Attention HCTC Students and Families:
- HCTC will start on Friday, August 30th for SMHS students.
- Students who are attending off campus HCTC programming (including welding) are released from HCTC at 1:07 p.m. on Fridays.
- Students who are participating in the carpentry program at SMHS will be released at 12:30 p.m. on Fridays.
- Labor Day Holiday – No school on Monday, September 2nd
- Open House – Wednesday, September 18th, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
