Biography

I was raised in Winter Harbor, I went to Winter Harbor Grammar School. My father was a carpenter and I grew up on job sites learning the trade. I joined the Coast Guard after graduating from Sumner in 1991. I served as a Damage Controlman where I learned skills in welding, plumbing, and carpentry and was responsible for systems maintenance, crew training, hazardous materials storage and rapid emergency response. After leaving the service, I returned home and started my own business as an independent contractor. In 2019, I took the job of the Industrial Arts Metal Shop teacher at Sumner. This is the third year for me teaching the Carpentry program for HCTC.
