Biography

Hi there! My name is Whytne Crabtree, and I love my job and SMHS! I have been in the halls of Sumner since I could walk! My father, Mr. Crabtree, was a longtime coach and teacher here, which eventually brought me right back home to begin my teaching career in 2018. My family’s connection to Sumner, however, goes back even further to when the school first opened its doors in 1952. My great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cole, were both hired as members of the original Sumner staff! Teaching at Sumner is a family tradition!

I teach Career Exploration, Financial Literacy, Leadership, and Community Service. I co-lead our PBIS Go BLUE initiative. I also advise the Sumner Fishing Council and facilitate the annual Marine Trades Forum.
