Biography

David Lane is a certified middle school math and science teacher with a diverse work history. He has worked as a pipefitter aboard submarines at General Dynamics, as a technical director for summer stock theatre , as a carpenter/builder, and an organic farmer before returning to school at the University of Maine.  Since beginning teaching, he’s worked as an ed tech, and as both middle and high school math and science teacher. The 2026-2027 school year is his third teaching math at Sumner Middle School, and he’s looking forward to a successful year with the new eight grade class!
