Biography

Born and raised in coastal Maine, Chris Smith is a math educator with a broad spectrum of experience teaching students in grades 7–12 and adults at Maine community colleges and universities. He received his master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Maine in Orono in 2019. Chris built his own home with the guidance of his father, Leon, a skilled tradesman with experience in welding, construction, and other trades. Providing students with the mathematical skills necessary to succeed and excel in Maine’s thriving trades and service industries is now one of his primary teaching motivations. Outside of class, Chris enjoys weight training and walking his dogs with his wife.
